Lumerical Interoperability

Lumerical Interoperability

In order to get Lumerical to work with KLayout please follow the steps below:

  1. Before you use any of the simulation functions, you need to set up the Lumerical INTERCONNECT compact model library.
  2. First copy the compact model library file to your AIMPhotonics_PDK folder. The compact model lib file can be found under EPDA_assisted_tapeout\Lumerical. You may need a password to unzip the compact model library file. For SiEPIC tools v0.3.070 and above, you will need to rename the cml file with the format name_vxxx.cml. Otherwise, the PDK won’t load properly.
  3. Then click the Setup Lumerical INTERCONNECT Compact Model Library item from SiEPIC menu. Follow the pop up window instructions to complete the setup.
  4. At the end of the setup, you will be prompted to choose whether you want to see all of the elements in the library. Due to tool limitations, this option currently is not working. Please select “No”.
  5. You will also need to set up GSiP Compact Model Library. After switching technology to GSiP by selecting and clicking GSiP from the technology pull down menu, repeat the previous steps.
  6. Please switch back to AIMPhotonics_PDK after the setup.
